New Day Academy Schools of Technology, Environment, and Peace (“New Day Schools”) is the life’s work, vision, and mission of Dr. Seth D. King.
Dr. King founded New Day Schools combining his 20 years of classroom teaching experience and curriculum development along with his background in technology, theology, English language arts, and environmental engineering to drive our mission.
New Day Schools is a subsidiary of Ascension Education Association (AEA). AEA was founded in April of 2023 as a subsidiary of the 508(c)(1) exception, faith-based, non-profit organization Loving to Learn Association under Archbishop Dr. Joshua Smith who is the President of Haven University as well as the President of his own Christian seminary school The Word of God International University.
Dr. Seth D. King, M.Ed., D.Min. is an accomplished educator with over 20 years of experience in public, charter, and private schools. He holds a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, a Master’s in Educational Technology & Leadership from Cal State Los Angeles, and a Clear Single Subject English Teaching Credential. He currently serves as the Technology Career Pathway Lead Teacher at New Designs Charter High School in Los Angeles.
In addition to his teaching roles, Dr. King continues to work as the Public Relations & Communications Director for GreenLand Development Foundation since 2022. Dr. King has been involved in the “We Plant Trees for Peace” Movement for over a decade. He founded Ascension Education Association (AEA) in 2023, supporting health, education, and social services.
Dr. King received an Honorary Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) in 2024 for his 25 years of ministry in education and community service. He is passionate about integrating innovation and sustainability, he envisions a global K-12 educational movement focused on character development and environmental stewardship as well as local and international peace building. He lives in Los Angeles, California with his wife who is a LCSW and two student athlete children.

New Day Academy Schools have built a strong international network with local organizers, teachers, and environmentalists. Our partners include synagogues, churches, mosques, and parent groups, working from the “ground up” in Africa, Asia, and beyond.
We are actively providing essential services, including child tutoring, food-bearing tree planting, and gardening. Our efforts are supported by a dedicated team embodying the Love of Christ to grow the foundational work for future New Day Academy Schools.
Looking ahead, with New Day Ethiopia as the model, we aim to establish additional New Day Academy Schools of Technology, Environment, & Peace in Liberia, Malawi, Kenya, India, Nepal, Congo, The Gambia, Ghana, South Sudan, and beyond from 2026 to 2032.

The Gambela Project called "Green New Day Christian Peace Academy" is a transformative initiative aimed at creating a beacon of hope, progress, and innovation and which will serve as a template for future new day schools.

Starting in 2025, we will establish our International Headquarters in Los Angeles, California, which will serve as the central point for our global operations. Green New Day Christian Peace Academy of Los Angeles is scheduled for Fall of 2026.
